Get to know the story of a sibling collaboration:

Mitra is an Iranian , Welsh artist born in the UK and raised in Iran. Her work is inspired by Iranian art, culture and nostalgia. Focusing on vibrant Iranian colours and symbolism she brings cultural motifs to life. Her work encompasses traditional embroidery, Lino art and mixed media work mainly reusing and recycling found objects and creating art from them.
Living away from each of her homes at one point in her life she likes to emphasise the importance of taking our culture with us where ever we go. She believes that surrounding ourselves in our culture acts as a form of essential self care . Her work strives to bring a corner of Iran to people living in the absence of home.

Kiyan, like Mitra is also Iranian Welsh born in the UK and raised in Iran.
Kiyan’s interests weren’t limited to his academic work as in his own time he spent long hours on creative projects including book binding, paper marbling, personalised book cover designs and the creation of the first British-Persian Calendar for his Sister, something that wasn’t available on the market.

After that first gift the collaboration between Brother and Sister began. By pooling from their joint memories and experiences they were able to bring this unique Calendar to life.
Mitra’s nostalgic and vibrant art and Kiyan’s technical knowledge, attention to detail and eye for aesthetics made this sibling collaboration the perfect mix of skills.
